Mutton is definitely a crowd favorite every year at our rodeo. Kids 50lbs and under Cowboy Up and hold on tight to a sheep as the chute opens. Due to the extreme amount of kids who would like to participate each year, riders are being chosen by a lottery draw. We will open registration up for 1 hour Saturday, August 24th at 5pm. At 7pm every child name who registered will be put into the lottery wheel. 20 riders and 2 alternates for each night ( Friday, Saturday and Sunday) will be pulled and notified. You are invited to watch the lottery drawing live on the Kendall County Fair Association Facebook page, but it is not necessary. Names will be posted on the Kendall County Fair Association website (www.kcfa.org); however, entry is not final until the information has been confirmed for eligibility.

A child must weigh no more than 50 pounds and will be weighed in at check-in at rodeo grounds. If your child weighs 51 pounds or more, your child will not be eligible to ride.

Parents or guardians must complete and sign a release and acknowledgment of rules/code of conduct form provided by Kendall County Fair Association. Parents and contestants must abide by the rules/code of conduct, or your child will not ride. The Mutton Bustin' Committee has the right to not permit a child to ride. If you have a question, ask at sign up.

Bring completed release and rules/code of conduct form at 7:00 p.m. on the date of child’s entry to the “KC Corner” table on rodeo grounds near the rodeo grandstands.

All of those accompanying the child must have a rodeo ticket for entry.

$35 Entry Fee will be collected at the rodeo.

Protective gear provided by Kendall County Fair Association (vest and helmet) must be worn by all participants; NO SPURS ALLOWED!

The child must wear pants and closed toed shoes.

Rodeo clowns will judge and score each contestant. THE JUDGE’S DECISION WILL BE FINAL.

Parents are prohibited from accompanying children in the arena. They will be in the good hands of members of the Kendall County Fair Association Rodeo Committee.

A photographer will be in the rodeo arena to take individual pictures of your child during Mutton Bustin'.

During Mutton Bustin’ Parents are encouraged to go to their seats and cheer for their children.

The photographer information will be given to each contestant to be able to order photos.
